Hi, my name is Koen and welcome to my website.
I am a member of the board of principals at Rozenberg S.O. in my hometown Mol, Belgium. Before taking this management role, I was a music, history and IT teacher and the head of the IT departement. In my role as head of IT, I was responsible for the 1:1-iPad deployment in my school as well as the integration of technology in the classroom.
In my opinion, technology can have an important role as a learning tool. Especially mobile devices can facilitate creativity, collaboration and critical thinking.
Before becoming principal, I was a frequent speaker about technology in school and provided workshops.
In 2011 I was awarded the title Apple Distinguished Educator and I cannot emphasise enough how proud I am of that! Being part of this global community of outstanding teachers has made a huge impact on how I teach and on how I help others to become better teachers and leaders at school. In the 2015-2017 period, I was a member of the ADE Advisory Board for the EMEIA region.
I am a Google Certified Educator.
